A Hastings toddler who was run over by an SUV over the weekend has died.
Aldo Yoel Ramirez-Lopez, 3, died at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Taylor Wilson, spokeswoman for the hospital, confirmed the death this morning, but declined to say when the boy died.
Hastings Police Sgt. Steve Murphy said the boy was struck by an SUV around 6:45 p.m. Saturday in front of his residence at Smitty’s Trailer Court in the 800 block of South Pine Avenue.
Hastings Police Sgt. Jim Baldwin told The Associated Press that the boy’s uncle, 21-year-old Miguel Lopez of Hastings, was parking a Ford Expedition and didn’t see the boy approaching from between several parked vehicles.
The boy was taken to Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings and later flown to Omaha for treatment.
