Fourth annual Springfest draws more than 800 visitors

A squawking turkey, cuddly baby bunnies and chicks, goats, storytellers and hands-on ag activities gave youngsters plenty to stimulate their active imaginations at the fourth annual Springfest at Prairie Loft Center Sunday afternoon.

The kickoff of the 2014 season at Prairie Loft, the event celebrated the return of spring from a rural perspective, giving families not accustomed to such things a unique experience to enjoy together on a gorgeous afternoon with temperatures in the mid-60s.

“Our hope for this event is to get families outdoors together, experiencing a little bit of ag, a little bit of nature, and a lot of fun,” said Amy Sandeen, Prairie Loft executive director. “We want to bring families out to this event, all generations, and we’re seeing that today. Lots of smiles on lots of faces.”
