Pershing resigns from HPS board

Members of the Hastings Board of Education accepted the resignation “with regret” of board vice president Matt Pershing and praised him during the board’s regular meeting Monday.

Discussing the issue, Superintendent Craig Kautz said Pershing is remaining in the community but just moved out of the district.

Kautz said he is confident Pershing will “remain a Tiger for the rest of his life.” The resignation is effective April 1, when Pershing notified the district of his change of address.

Board members voted 7-0 to approve the resignation.
