Attending the Day of Caring for the last three years has given Dee Scott of Hastings a chance to take a break from her normal routine.
As a caregiver for four grandchildren on and off over the past several years, she is familiar with busy schedules, high demands and not much "me" time.
She and caregivers of all kinds from Adams, Clay, Nuckolls and Webster counties were blessed with just that — a day of self care and relaxation — during the ninth annual Day of Caring held at the Hastings City Auditorium Thursday. The event was sponsored by the South Central Caregiver Town Hall Coalition and the Hastings Community Foundation.
The Day of Caring is designed to honor those who care for children, spouses or loved ones in their homes, whether for medical reasons, obligation, or just to keep their family members close.
