Thursday's dual against Norfolk started on the right track for the Hastings High girls tennis team. The Tigers jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches were complete.
Hastings High couldn't keep that success going in the singles matches, falling to Norfolk 6-3 after winning just one singles match.
"It was just a disappointing loss — not just wins and losses, it's the way we lost," HHS head coach Roger Sunderman said. "I did feel, mentally, we came out ready to play. I didn't feel we adjusted during the match."
Sunderman was pleased with the way his team looked during the doubles competition, but he said the Tigers weren't adjusting to their opponents in the singles matches.
