Fifteen years ago, the St. Cecilia girls basketball team had zero wins. That’s when the school turned to Jahn Kile to right the ship.
In his 14 years at the school, Kile did just that.
The Hawkettes compiled a record of 207-111 during his tenure and put together a run the past four years that rivals the great success the school had in girls basketball back in the 1970s.
Kile said this morning that he was recently informed that he was being let go.
“What I was told is that the school is looking to move in a different direction,” said Kile, who directed St. Cecilia to a state championship in 2011 and back-to-back state runner-ups the past two seasons. “That’s the fact of the matter.”
