Three members of the Hastings High girls track and field team emerged as leaders at Tuesday’s triangular, particularly in the field events.
Libby Knapple was stout in both throwing competitions, winning the discus with a mark of 114 feet, 1 inch while finishing second in the shot put (35-1/4).
In the jumping competitions, Brooke Bailey won the high jump (4-8) and Rae Markle won the long jump (16-11 1/2). Jordan Graviette was second in the long jump with a mark of 16-3 1/2.
“Today was a day of experimentation with some kids in some events,” said HHS girls coach Scott Rosno. “We had some good responses. We just wanted to see how some kids would compete. It’s that second half of the season, and it’s time to put some things together and get ready for conference and districts.”
