For the second consecutive day, the Adams Central boys golf team was competing at Southern Hills. The Patriots placed fourth in Thursday’s St. Cecilia invite with a 359. On Friday, AC improved its score by 17 strokes for a 342 and placed second in its own Adams Central invite.
While it was Gibbon that ran away with the championship — boasting an impressive 317 team score — AC coach Don Lyons was pleased with the way his golfers competed.
“We didn’t get off to a great start,” Lyons said. “But they came back better on the back. We had a 39, 43, 42, 40 and a 42. That’s an improvement, so I’m happy with that.”
