After the bizarre spring weather kept most teams inside, the Adams Central girls tennis team knows it’s going to take some time to get back into the groove of competition. But the Patriots took a step in the right direction on Friday.
Adams Central defeated St. Cecilia 8-1 in a dual which featured some of the nicest weather conditions the area has seen in quite some time — temperatures reached 70 degrees with a slight breeze. Patriots head coach Rod Hartman was just as impressed with his team as he was with the weather.
“Our consistency was better and we listened better. We still need to be more aggressive in doubles, but we’re starting to get some of the smaller things and the concepts we’re trying to work on. Hopefully that can continue,” Hartman said.
