Art in the Park
The Adams County Convention & Visitors Bureau will play host to this year’s Art in the Park event Sunday at Libs Park near 16th Street and Baltimore Avenue
Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s event will showcase the work of 40 artisans. The types of work represented will include yard decor, metal sculptures, photography, jewelry, various painting styles, stained glass, macramé, wood carvings, door art, handmade glass marbles, pottery, hand-crafted items and crochet items.
This event is free and open to the public. There is room in the park for social distancing.
Food trucks will be available at the park all day during the event. In addition, musicians will be performing live throughout the day.
Woman injured in house fire
GRAND ISLAND — A woman has been injured in a Grand Island house fire, officials in the south-central Nebraska city said.
Battalion Chief Bryan Stutzman said firefighters were called to the house for a fire just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, and arriving crews found the front of the home fully engulfed in flames, the Grand Island Independent reported.
A woman who lived at the home was found lying in the front yard when crews arrived, Stutzman said. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
All four Grand Island station responded to the fire, which was left uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
