MINDEN — The report Olsson Associates engineers shared Thursday with residents here evaluating the town’s water distribution center wasn’t a surprise.
The engineers have been working on Minden’s Municipal Water System Study since early March. Four-inch iron water mains have caused the build up of iron and manganese, resulting in Minden’s colored water, which has been reported to be shades of pink, red, orange and brown.
“It’s confirming what city councils have done in the past,” City Administrator Matthew Cederburg said. “It’s firming up our expectations of what to see and our goal is to prioritize the needs of the city based on their study.”
