Faces of Tribland: First Kool-Aid queen now a big proponent of festival
Throughout the past year, Kimberly Brennan has had the opportunity to tell people across Nebraska about the syrupy-sweet traditions and kwik kompetitions that mix together to form the annual Kool-Aid Days Festival.
"People would ask me about it, and I'd say 'you can go buy your $2 Kool-Aid mug and keep filling it up throughout the day! It's the best!'" Brennan said with a sunny disposition worthy of a stage performance.
Luckily, PR opportunities like these come naturally to the Omaha resident, who has been participating in pageant events since she was 9.
Brennan was crowned Miss Kool-Aid Days at the first pageant in 2012 and returned to Hastings this weekend to help with the second annual event and pass the Kool-Aid krown to her successor.
