Hastings resident fulfills Pryor commitment

Lonnie Senstock films Monty McCord arresting Richard Pryor Jr. for a
scene in an upcoming documentary Wednesday in downtown Hastings.

At age 52, Richard Pryor Jr. thinks it’s finally time his story was told.

The son of late actor/comedian Richard Pryor was in Hastings shooting footage Wednesday for a documentary film telling his life story through the lens and interpretation of Waverly filmmaker Lonnie Senstock.
Monty McCord, a Hastings author and retired police officer, plays the arresting officer in the scene, which was shot at the corner of First Street and Lincoln Avenue.

For McCord, whose collection of police memorabilia includes the replica car from the “Adam 12” television series used in the documentary, the cameo role was an unexpected opportunity to enjoy 15 minutes of fame alongside a noted celebrity.

“It’s something that doesn’t come along in this area very often,” he said. “It’s fun to be part of something like this.”
