Grant funding to help two area counties put records online

Two Tribland counties are among 18 state entities to share in nearly $250,000 in grant money for getting public records online.

Secretary of State John Gale announced the recipients last week. The majority of grants awarded by the Nebraska State Records Board will be used for the development of geographic information services.

Webster County will receive $19,91, and Franklin County will receive $6,720.

“It’ll be phenomenal to have everything digitized and online for 24/7 access to the public,” Webster County deputy assessor Tricia Allen said. “It will definitely cut down on calls, so it will free up more time for us.”
