For pageant veterans Angie Trausch and Angela Keiser, helping out with the Miss Kool-Aid Days pageant was in a sense like going home.
That's because these two area women both have held titles and competed in the Miss Nebraska competition in Scottsbluff.
Trausch, who lives in Hastings, first became associated with the pageant in 2012, serving as head judge in the inaugural year.
"Right after the pageant, they said, 'Would you like to be director of the pageant next year?'" Trausch said. "Of course my first response is yes because I have such a deep love for this program because it empowers ladies. It gives them the opportunity to further their chances of creating lasting relationships."
