When Pam Bohmfalk goes to the grocery store, it is not uncommon for someone to recognize her.
"People stop me and say, 'Oh, you're the Kool-Aid lady," Bohmfalk said with a laugh. "Of course, they stop me in the store and want to re-check out their library books, too."
Bohmfalk, who is the assistant director of the Hastings Public Library, has served as the president of the Kool-Aid Days board of directors for more than a decade, and has indeed become as crucial to the festival's operations as the sugar and colorful drink mixes that flow perpetually throughout the weekend.
She and her husband, John, have poured Kool-Aid and served in countless volunteer positions throughout the last 15 years of the festival.
