DAVENPORT — The Little Blue Natural Resources District will rely on $1.797 million in property tax proceeds to support its $3.299 million budget for 2014-15.
Meeting here for its monthly meeting Tuesday, the LBNRD board of directors voted 14-0 to approve the spending and saving plan for Fiscal Year 2015, which began July 1 and runs through June 30, 2015. Directors Ed Fleharty of Hastings, Sacha Lemke of Bruning and Richard Kahman of Fairfield were excused.
The district’s property tax requirement will be down by $15,971, or a shade less than 1 percent, from the amount for Fiscal Year 2014. The FY2014 budget bottom line was $3.289 million.
Using the NRD’s taxable valuation figure for 2013 — $6,338,878,220 — the district would need to collect property tax at a rate of 2.835 cents per $100 valuation to generate the needed revenue. The rate for the previous year was 2.86 cents per $100.
