Salmonella outbreak traced to Blue Hill Care Center
BLUE HILL — South Heartland District Health Department, along with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking the cause of a salmonellosis outbreak associated with the Blue Hill Care Center.
According to a Monday news release from the health department, 17 cases have been confirmed and two probable or suspected cases have been reported in Blue Hill Care Center residents, staff and visitors.
Four residents were temporarily hospitalized after showing symptoms. A visitor remained hospitalized as of Monday.
