An antique milkshake mixer. Rows of plastic restaurant booths. Lanterns from the Union Pacific Railroad. Cast iron skillets. Model train cars painted with the names of local businesses and schools.
A collage of these and other pieces of memorabilia filled the parking lot of the former OK Cafe at 806 W. 16th Street Wednesday as the restaurant owners sold historic pieces of the business back to community members and antique dealers.
"It's a very bittersweet day for us," said Mary Jo Randolph, who co-owned the OK Cafe with her husband, Pat, beginning in 1974.
