CRYSTAL LAKE — A new location brought more tractors, more vendors and more spectators to the 30th Annual Antique and Collector Show here over the weekend.

For the past 17 years, the Platte Valley Antique Machinery Association held its annual show at Dyer Park south of Hastings on U.S. Highway 281.

However, within the last few years, event organizers noticed they were running out of room, so this year they moved to the Crystal Lake Recreation Area just north of Ayr.

Early estimates indicate that nearly 1,000 people came through the gates Saturday, doubling the daily admission from previous years, according to association secretary Donna Wilton.

"The gate number is way, way higher than we ever had at Dyer Park," Wilton said.
