Eric Barber was perfectly content in his role as CEO of Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Mo.
During his three-year tenure there, the hospital thrived, earning recognition as one of America's 50 best Hospitals by Becker's Hospital Review magazine. So why did he decide to leave that all behind in favor of Hastings?
Because in Mary Lanning HealthCare and Hastings, he and his wife, Julie, believe they have found the perfect match. Barber assumed the role of President/CEO of Mary Lanning Monday.
"Having moved several times over the last 12 years of my career, I'm looking forward to putting down some roots and staying for as long as you guys will have me," he said Tuesday during an interview at the hospital. "I would not have left (Northeast) but for what I would classify as a 'perfect opportunity' which I think I've found here."
