Aquacourt wraps up low-attendance year

Sunshine, high temperatures and clear skies compose the recipe for a good day at the city of Hastings Aquacourt. This summer, however, a series of rainy days and cloudy mornings made for below-average attendance and several pool closings.

The park was closed for seven full days and had to close early on seven other days throughout the season due to cold temperatures or storms.

"It was a pretty chilly season for us," said Ryan Martin, recreation superintendent and general manager of the Aquacourt. "We did still have some peak days, though. It's interesting how the weather controls things."
