Hastings couple killed when SUV, semi collide

SARONVILLE — A Hastings man and wife died near here early this morning when the sport-utility vehicle they were traveling in collided with a semitrailer truck at the junction of U.S. Highway 6 and Nebraska Highway 14 North, Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin reported.

The bodies of the man, age 53, and his wife, 52, had been transported for autopsy by midmorning, Franklin said. Meanwhile, two of their children — one an adult and the other a minor child — had been flown to Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln for treatment of trauma injuries.
