TRIBLAND FACES OF SPORTS: Adams Central’s first football season

Even though it was 46 years ago, Ron Wiseman still remembers a lot about that first-ever season of football for Adams Central.

There were a few challenges of trying to even put a team on the field at Adams Central that year. In fact, home games that season were played in Juniata where Adams Central students also attended classes.

“Well, it was a transition. (The field) was no longer the home of the (Juniata) Dragons, it was the home of the Patriots,” said Wiseman, who was a 140-pound sophomore at the time.
