High school fall sports officially hit the ground running this morning, as football, boys tennis, girls golf and softball teams could begin practicing to prepare for this season.

Second-year Hastings High head coach Erik Emerson said today’s start to the season is an opportunity to move on and improve off of the previous year.

“After a long summer of raising expectations and getting that bad taste out of our mouths from last season, it’s just fantastic to be out on the football field with the guys,” he said. “I could tell they were excited, and we looked sharp for the first day of practice.”
