Josh Gehring's first year as the Midland University football coach may not have gone quite as planned.
The Warriors were just 3-6 in the GPAC and 4-6 overall. An offense that averaged 30.7 points a year before, saw its scoring fall to 17.3 points per game last season. And the defense gave up an average of 118.5 yards per game more in 2012 than it did in 2011.
This season may raise even more challenges for Midland than there were in Gehring's first year, but the second-year head coach is embracing the challenge.
"Entering our second season, we still have a lot of question marks. And to me, that's exciting," Gehring said. "We have a lot of good things happening in the program, but I will say we have our challenges as well."
