The new era of Adams Central football received a rude welcome back into the ranks of Class B.
The Patriots fell 34-7 against Northwest in Shawn Mulligan's first game as head coach. The Vikings kept the AC offense from getting anything going on the ground, while the Northwest offense nickle-and-dimed its way down the field.
"They controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. I felt like that was a key coming into the game. Whoever could control the line of scrimmage would win the game," Mulligan said. "I thought the score was not indicative of how our team played. I thought we played really hard, and that's what I ask from the kids each and every week.
