ROSELAND — Silver Lake tightened its hold onto the No. 1 ranking in six-man football with an impressive win over Arcadia in the season opener.

The Mustangs, ranked atop the six-man ranks in the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal-Star, closed Friday night’s encounter by cruising past the Huskies 64-25.

Silver Lake appeared to be playing in mid-season form for much of the contest, with no turnovers and just two offsides penalties.
“You cant ask for better than that,” Silver Lake coach Duane Arntt told his team immediately following the game.

“It shows great discipline. If we don’t have very many penalties and don’t have turnovers, we thought we could come out on top,” Arntt said in a post-game interview.
