Adams Central students give back

In the span of just two weeks, students at Adams Central collected more than 4,500 pounds of non-perishable food items and more than 600 stuffed animals to benefit people in need.

“Being out here at Adams Central for 19 years now, it always seems that we’re asking (students) to donate — whether it’s time or some item — and these kids always step up to the plate,” said Twila Knehans, Adams Central’s National Honor Society sponsor.

Last week, students in kindergarten through 12th grade at Adams Central were asked to bring in non-perishable food items or paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper and paper plates.

When totaled, 4,522 items were collected — 21 items more than the goal needed for all students to receive a day off from school.
