Local school officials expressed shock and concern in the aftermath of a school shooting in Connecticut that left 20 children dead Friday.
"This is a terrible tragedy that defies all reason," Hastings Public Schools Superintendent Craig Kautz said. "Our hearts go out to the community of Newtown, Conn., to the students, staff, parents and community members who live there."
Adams Central Superintendent Shawn Scott echoed that same message.
"My thoughts are that it's very unfortunate and sad to see," Scott said.
