Gum drops, frosting, gingerbread and a pairing of young and old made for a fun afternoon Wednesday at The Kensington.

Girl Scouts with Troop No. 498 in Hastings spent about an hour sharing candy and bonding with seniors while decorating gingerbread houses.

This is the second time the troop has visited The Kensington in the last few years to decorate gingerbread houses with the seniors. Troop leader Lisa Brandt said the girls always enjoy the experience.

"We did it one time two years ago and everyone enjoyed it so much — the senior residents and the Girl Scouts — that they asked if we could do it again this year," she said.
