Holding a folding chair for support, 7-year-old Anna Stritt tried to stutter-step herself along the slippery ice.
After she became more comfortable, she tried skating with her mother, Jamie, and finally on her own.
Three members of the Stritt family of Hastings braved the low temperatures last week to take to the ice. It took time for Anna and her 9-year-old sister, Allison, to get back into the swing of ice skating, but they seemed to like the challenge.
Having enjoyed ice skating on a frozen river at her family's land in Minnesota since she was young, Jamie wanted to share her love of ice skating with her daughters.
