After more than two years of operating as an independent hotel, the Hastings’ Hotel has gone HoJo.
Hotel general manager Ashton Smith confirmed the hotel’s new franchise partnership with Howard Johnson Hotels on Monday.
“We bought into the franchise to get the franchise name to go along with our improvements we’re doing with the whole facility,” Smith said. “It’s something we’ve been working on and decided now was the time to get it done for the new year.”
Signage for the HoJo franchise is expected to go up next week, Smith said. The change-over has been in effect since Dec. 13, he said.
“I think it’s the best thing that could have happened,” he said. “It should have happened a long time ago. It just took some time to convince the owners that’s what we needed to do.
