— Hastings Public Schools launched its 1-to-1 initiative to provide laptop computers to every student at Hastings High School.
— Pete Kortum, a captain with the Grand Island Police Department, was chosen to become chief of the Hastings Police Department.
— Adams County Sheriff Gregg Magee was inducted into the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association Hall of Fame.
