An emotional moment took place just before the Hastings College wrestling team took to the mat for its first home dual of the season Tuesday night.
The team honored their fallen captain, Brad Cusatis, who was killed alongside his mother in a September car-train collision.
Hastings College president Dennis Trotter and athletic director Jerry Shmutte presented the team a shadow box complete with Cusatis' singlet, wrestling shoes and a photo.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, they weren't quite able to come out with the victory against Benedictine (Kan.) — dropping the dual 24-22 at Lynn Farrell Arena.
"I hate to let a win slip away," HC coach Shawn Kelley said, "and that was a winnable dual for sure."
