Few could draw up a more exciting way to open the season.

Adams Central outscored Holdrege 10-5 in the final three minutes, 23 seconds of the game to win a tightly contested battle 58-54. The Patriots' head coach Zac Foster told his kids to simply play their game in the closing minutes.

"We talk a lot about how if you get up for certain games over other, that's a mistake. If you play differently in the first (quarter) than you do in the fourth, that's a mistake. You should play the same way all of the time," Foster said.
