After two consecutive close games, the Hastings High boys were able to breathe at the end of Friday's game against Holdrege.
The Tigers benefited from a big third quarter in their 56-42 victory over the Dusters (0-3), improving Hastings High's record to 2-1. One of the main concerns for the Tigers was the fast pace that Holdrege likes to play at. But according to HHS coach Scott Rosno, his team handled it just fine.
"We really thought, coming into the game, that the big key was controlling the tempo," he said. "We talked about two aspects: We had to be able to win the rebounds — through the night I thought we won the boards — but we had to handle the tempo they were trying to push."
