St. Cecilia girls basketball coach Jahn Kile has felt his team has some pretty good shooters. He said the girls have showcased their skills in practice and he's just been waiting for them to do it in a game.
Friday night was that night.
The St. Cecilia girls basketball team was red-hot from the field and coasted to a 72-22 victory over Doniphan-Trumbull at Chapman Gymnasium.
St. Cecilia led 9-5 midway through the first quarter after Doniphan-Trumbull's Jordyn Brummund hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
Then the Hawkettes used a 24-0 run to jump out to a 33-5 lead at the six-minute mark of the second quarter. St. Cecilia hit its first eight field goals of the second quarter, including six 3-pointers to blow the game open.
