FAIRFIELD — Going into the fourth quarter of the Sandy Creek girls basketball game against Adams Central, the Cougars' Conner Lowery was sitting on a scoreless night and an 0-for-7 shooting performance.

But she dominated the fourth quarter.

Sandy Creek beat Adams Central 46-43 Wednesday in a game that was decided in the closing minutes. Lowery finished the fourth quarter with 13 points, shooting 4-for-7 from the field and hitting three free throws.

"(Lowery) stepped up, and as a senior, she should step up for all the minutes she's played over the years," said Sandy Creek head coach Russ Ninemire. "In the fourth quarter, she got herself going and got her confidence going."
