The Hastings High boys basketball team appeared to have things well in hand early in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s basketball game against Columbus.
With a five-point halftime lead that had ballooned to 19 points in just a little over one quarter, the Tigers appeared to have their third victory of the season under wraps.
But that’s when Columbus began to heat up.
And HHS coach Scott Rosno had one simple message for his team — knock down free throws, play defense and take care of the ball.
“Do two of those three things and you’re going to have a solid chance to win,” Rosno said Tuesday after the Tigers held on to post a 48-40 victory over the Discoverers.
