Red Cloud girls beat Harvard

HARVARD — Thanks to a big first quarter and fourth quarter, the Red Cloud Lady Warriors defeated Harvard (0-4) 31-18 on Friday.

The Lady Warriors jumped out in front of the Cardinals 13-5 in the first stanza. But they followed up that big first quarter with only seven combined points in the next two periods, including a scoreless second quarter.

Even though the Red Cloud (2-1) offense wasn't clicking as one would hope, it was their defense that allowed them to hold on to the lead and pull away with a victory.

"I thought we played two pretty good quarters," Red Cloud head coach Casey Fangmeyer said.
