DONIPHAN — The quick hands and fast feet of St. Cecilia guards Shandra Farmer and Clare Hamburger helped the Hawkettes defeat Doniphan-Trumbull 65-39 Friday night. Farmer had a game-high 18 points and Hamburger chipped in 17 as the two combined for more than half of the team's points in the win.
"We've got some good, talented guards. Farmer kind of leads the way there and Hamburger did a pretty good job tonight, too," St. Cecilia coach Jahn Kile said. "We played pretty well and we started our possessions off well, even though sometimes we didn't finish possessions."
The Hawkettes had numerous steals that led to fast-break opportunities that all started from their energetic defense.
