Lawrence-Nelson girls have hard time scoring against BDS defense

NELSON — The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (5-0) Lady Eagles used a stingy defense to defeat Lawrence-Nelson (1-2) 55-32 Saturday.

The Lady Eagles forced 30 turnovers that led to numerous fast-break points on their way to moving to 5-0 on the season.

Jaycie Hoins had 14 points off the bench to pace the Lady Eagles, and Jennifer Mick chipped in with 13.

Late in the first quarter with score tied at 11, BDS scored nine-straight points to take a 20-11 lead. Hoins had five points in that run, and BDS never trailed after that.
