STC wins battle over Sutton

On Oct. 4, St. Cecilia and Sutton met on the gridiron in a defensive battle between two talented football teams. The Bluehawks came away a 21-14 victory.

On Friday, the two teams met on the basketball court in a game that was very similar — even the score.

St. Cecilia's stifling defense led the Bluhawks past defending Class C-2 runner-up Sutton 29-23.

"You have to play such great, disciplined defense against (Sutton) because they run that pattern to a T," said the Bluehawks' head coach Kevin Asher. "I thought 35 points would win the game. Defensively, there were a couple mistakes that we'll see on tape, but outside of that I thought played an outstanding basketball game."
