Cardinal boys run away from Fillmore Central

DONIPHAN — It only took the Doniphan-Trumbull boys basketball team (5-1) just three seconds to score off of the opening tip en route to a 75-37 win over Fillmore Central (2-4) on Saturday.

The Cardinals started the game on a 12-2 run that was capped off by a one-handed dunk from Creighton Buhr. D-T scored 24 points in the first period on 10-of-13 shooting.

"We've made some subtle changes and I feel like we're doing a better job of finding the shooters, and we're keeping the tempo of play at the pace that we want to play," said D-T head coach Steve Hartman. "We're much better when we keep the game at a higher tempo."
