GRAND ISLAND — The Hastings High wrestling team captured two more dual victories in round two of the Flatwater Fracas Saturday at the Heartland Event Center, finishing sixth out of 32 schools.

The Tigers, who won their pool in Friday's matches but lost in the cross division round to Omaha North by just three points, edged Papillion La-Vista 33-32 and controlled Gretna 52-30. Their only loss Saturday was a 35-31 decision to fifth-place finisher Lexington. Overall, the Tigers finished the tough tournament with a 5-2 record.

"We've got some tough kids, and I've known that for a while. Today, we showed it," said HHS head coach Brian Laux. "We wrestled well on yesterday — we won our pool and that put us into good position for today. Sometimes, you can be complacent with having such a good day the day before that you come out flat. But our guys didn't, they wrestled well and we just need to keep moving forward."
