HARVARD — The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders (3-4) defeated the Harvard Cardinals 48-39 in the first round of the Harvard Holiday tournament on Friday.

After a five day hiatus due to the Christmas break, both teams hit the floor rusty and ready to shake off the recent cobwebs.
The Raiders defense down the stretch proved to be the difference as they held off a pesky Cardinal squad.

Midway through the second quarter, Harvard (1-6) had a 15-13 lead before the Raiders rallied off 11 straight points to take a 24-13 lead with one minute left before halftime. Senior guard Cole Epley had the lone Raider 3-pointer of the game along with a breakaway layup that allowed Lawrence-Nelson to take control of the game.
