HARVARD — The Lawrence-Nelson girls basketball team notched a first-round win in the Harvard Holiday tournament on Friday night. The Lady Raiders (4-3), who start five Sophomores, showed an impressive defensive effort, holding Harvard (0-8) to only 16 points on the night.

Lawrence-Nelson head coach Cathy Biltoft talked about her Sophomore lineup. "They are still inexperienced, but they've been playing together since third grade," Biltoft said. "They have a little bit of chemistry out there."

The Lady Raiders would score first in the game from a two point basket by Rachel Kathman 1:28 seconds into the contest. Both teams would trade baskets throughout the quarter, and the first field goal came from Alexis Schuck with 3:29 remaining and a score of 3-2 in favor of Harvard. The score ended at a tie of 5-5 at the end of the first quarter.
