ROSELAND — Friday's game between the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley and Silver Lake girls basketball teams was a tale of two halves.

The Eagles jumped out to a 15-point halftime lead only to have their advantaged trimmed to just six points in the fourth quarter. But BDS held off just enough for the victory.

"We live and die by our defense. That's kind of our staple," said BDS head coach Shana Gerberding. "We put a lot of pressure on teams. We want to get after it, get some easy steals and some points."
