HARVARD — Lawrence-Nelson nabbed its first holiday tournament title in five seasons Saturday night in Harvard — but it was far from pretty.
The Raiders (4-4) were just 9-of-33 from the field against Kenessaw in the 23-19 win. The Blue Devils (4-4) weren't any better, hitting only 5-of-50 shots for a 10 percent scoring average.
"It just boils down to we get in a hurry. We're not confident a lot of times with the basketball in pressure situations, and that's been a learning experience with these guys," Raiders' head coach Tom Jensen said. "They've come a long ways. It's been a long time since we've played for a championship in anything and this is a big deal. Sometimes you have to fight through these games and learn how to win them. Hopefully it takes us to a higher level."
